Saturday Morning at the Beach

Saturday we got up and went for a walk down the beach. Actually, they are shooting a movie, so we were really out to do a little snooping, but it was too early. We did see a man from the "Sea Turtle Patrol". N. Topsail is a Sea Turtle santuary so the patrol goes out every morning looking for new nests. They mark them and then 60 days later they make a runway for the babies to get to the ocean. Apparently you can call them and they will tell you when the babies are coming and you can go and watch them. Maybe when we have visitors we can watch! We also saw lots of dolphins. It's hard to get their picture, but I managed to get one! They were playing all around the shirmp boats. Mike was tagging along in the backpack. This time Joe was carrying him. He loved playing with his dad's head! Probably b/c it feels so funny, but he loved his ears too!

Since my memory card broke, I have been using the one that came with my camera. The problem is it only holds 18 pictures! So now I have to upload them to the computer a lot more often. So these are the most recent. Just hanging around the house, some of father's day, etc.

Today was Joe's first flight! They fly right over our house, so I was able to get some shots of him! Congratulations!!!

Beach Bum!

Mike and I have been doing a little backpacking down the beach lately. He loves it. The other day we set up shop and stayed out for a while. Unfortunately for me I lost my phone while we were there. My guess is it's at the bottom of the ocean now! Luckily Joe had a spare.

6 month Well Baby!

Mike had his checkup yesterday. He's tall and skinny! He was 28 inches which puts him in the 97 percentile but only 16.7 lbs. That is the 31st percentile for weight. He actually didn't put hardly any weight on since his last appointment but he grew like a weed! Anyway, nobody really seemed to be concerned about it. He eats like a horse! He also got his shots. Since we now go to a clinic outside of base he had someone new giving him the shots. It was so sad. The last two times he had them done with the air gun but this clinic does it the old fashion way with needles. Oh boy did he scream like he's never screamed before! But only for a second. So that's it. He's healthy!
