I love these guys!

These two keep me so busy some days I think my head might spin right off! But, I love em!!

Bath Time!

Well, it has started. These two are going to get into more trouble than I ever imagined. I can see it already. Tonight in the bath, Mike was splashing like a maniac. I of course told him to stop, and right after that Henry started laughing. Well then Mike just started putting on a show and Henry kept right on laughing. And that was it. I was out numbered. A small introduction to what the future holds no doubt.

All the things I can do!

Henry has taken off! All of a sudden he can sit up, crawl, and hold his own bottle. He also says "mama" and "dada" discriminately. He's moving right along! In a few days he will be 8 months old. That is really unbelieveable to me!

Happy Easter!

Today we had a very relaxed Easter. We got up, hunted for eggs and went to church. The church was filled with more kids than I think I have ever seen there before. We got there just in time to get seats in the quiet room. Ironically enough, the quiet room is anything but quiet! I don't think anyone in there heard a word that the priest said. After church we went to McDonalds. Joe gave up fast food for lent and was super excited to eat a big mac!
Mike thought the Easter baskets were great. He looked for eggs for a couple minutes. He thought the Peep's that Joe got in his basket looked yummy, but after he tried them he thought differently and spit them out. Henry got some goodies in his basket too, but he was interested in getting ahold of the wrappers on the floor. We missed being at home with everyone, but it was a great day.

SOD!

Our yard has been the thorn in our new home buying experience. We put seed down last fall only to have it washed away by a tropical storm. Since then it has been a big sandbox. So now that spring has come we decided to put sod in. This has been such a huge job. Joe and two others have been working around the clock to get it all laid by the end of their Easter 96. So far they have logged a solid 20 hours and they aren't done yet. They are working their tail ends off, but the yard is looking great. Mike is having a blast too. He has been hanging out with the guys "helping dad" and in the process getting to have a ton of fun!

What a Week!

The whole clan came down to visit us over their spring break. It was so great. Everyone helped with the kids, mom cooked for us and mom and Roger gave us a lot of help and advice with our yard! I was so sad to see them go, but I think Mike was even more sad than I was. He kept saying he wanted to go with them to their house! We had so much fun. We went to the beach and out to Mike's Farm. The kids played with Mike the whole time. It was such a great time, I can't wait until they come back again.
The icing on the cake was our visit from Matt. He was able to come and eat dinner with us one evening. Mike thought he was the coolest! It was so nice to see him and what better way to show it than to put him to work! Joe roped him into helping us put in a shelf under the tv. As you can see, it was a group effort!

Baby News

Today we went to the doctor to find out what we are going to have. Unfortunately the results were inconclusive. The baby was moving like crazy and the cord was in the way. The tech said she thinks it's a girl, but she couldn't be 100%. So we have to wait until the next appt. to try again. That is scheduled for April 28th. We will keep you posted!

Potty Training

Michael has been begging to get some "cars" pullups. So today while we were shopping we bought some. He loved them so much he tried to put two of them on at once. Then he wanted each of us to wear some too:)Hopefully this will help motivate him!

Henry Man

Henry is getting to be a big guy. Just after he got his tooth, he said mama. This did not make Mike happy at all! Mike promptly replied "THAT'S MY MOM!" Soon after that he started to say dada. Now Joe rubs it in that Henry says dad way more than he says mom. Here he is with a couple of other babies. They are all the same age, but as you can see, he clearly wins the size competition.

Mega Update

I have so many things to post, but I am so behind. So here's what's been going on. Joe has been very sick since last Friday. He felt so bad yesterday he came home from work early. Then, he went in to work to find that the whole squadron was going on a run with the new CO. So, he went, and puked, and feel very bad for him. Nothing sounds worse than running when you have the flu.
On a very bittersweet note, my baby, my "newborn", my little Henry has a tooth! I can't believe it. I seriously feel like he was just born yesterday. I can't believe he is 6 months old and is getting teeth. Anyway, I found it today when he was jabbering.
Attention Haley's with big head syndrome: You are smarter than the average person!
Good news huh! Henry went to the neurologist. The took one look at Joe and said "well if you take a look at the size of your head, you'll find that this is probably where Henry got his from." Yes, we already knew that, but the Dr's wanted to check it out anyway. They even strapped Henry to the cat scan table and took pictures of his brain. He's fine and according to the Dr, people who have big heads(as in this instance)have them because they have bigger brains. And there is a scientific correlation between the bigger brain size and being smarter. So hooray!
Going on the Michael, he has been watching Nick Jr. during the day. There is a commercial for "Cars" (the movie) pull ups. He keeps asking for them and I keep telling him that he has to go to the bathroom on the big potty if he wants to get them. So today he finally asked if he could try. Unfortunately nothing happened, but this is a big step for him. He usually runs away in the other direction if we mention the potty chair.
He saw the physical therapist today and she said he was making such great progress that he didn't need to come back for a month. We usually go once a week, so that is good news too.
I haven't been to the Dr lately. My next appt is next week. I am 16 weeks now so we should be finding out what this one is going to be. I'll keep you posted.
Bye!

Henry

Poor Henry gets left out of the mix b/c he can't play with Mike when we're out doing all of these fun things. He is rolling over now, eating tons of cereal and sleeping through the night!

Two Peas in a Pod

Mike has been attached to Joe's hip lately. He will randomly put his arm around Joe when they are playing. I guess Joe has been working long hours and Mike misses him when he's gone.

The Park

The last few days we have had great weather. It's been in the high 60s and sunny. Today was a different story, but we took advantage of the nice weather when it was here. We took the kids to the park. Mike of course had a great time. He was being Joe cool and copying his dad. You will notice the sunglasses!

Chuckie Cheese!

Well Joe and I finally decided to brave it and take the kiddos to Chuckie Cheese. Wow! Was it a mad house. Mike had a great time though. He went on rides and played the games. He even sat down and ate his pizza. The next morning I went in to get him out of bed and he said "I hungry. I eat pizza. Go Chuckie Cheeses." It was pretty darn funny.

Hello Gorgeous

Snow Day!

This week it snowed here! Word has it that the last time it snowed with any accumulation was in 2003. Everything was closed. Schools, businesses and the bases were operating on essential personnel only. It was a big reaction to 2 inches of snow! Mike of course loved it. He wanted to go out every chance he could. He was very disappointed when he woke up the next day and it had all melted!

Brotherly Love

Since Henry was born, Mike has shown little to no interest in him at all. Lately though, he seems to be warming up to him a bit. He was even sharing his bulldozer! This is no small feat considering everything in the world is "mine!"

Henry's Baptism

Henry's baptism was over Christmas break at St. Ben's. As usual, Father Joel did a very nice job and the ceremony went smoothly. Thank you to everyone who attended!

Way Behind-

Well since we have returned from Christmas vacation, I have been in SLOW mode. Just tonight I finally finished all of our laundry. The house has looked like a bomb went off since we got back and there doesn't seem to be any like at the end of this tunnel! Henry is still not sleeping through the night. Tonight we moved him into our room, we are going to sleep in the guest room and let him cry it out a little more. Since I have been terrified of Henry waking Mike up, one of us usually rushes in to get him before he makes too much noise. Big Mistake!
On a much more hilarious note, Michael has become quite the copy cat. He loves the Alvin and the Chipmunks movie. One of the lines that Alvin says is "Helloooo Georgeous!" Mike said that during his physical therapy session and it was the funniest thing ever.
Also very funny was Henry's 4 month check up. As luck would have it, his head circumference was also off the charts this visit. Mike also took that honor but he didn't get there until around 7 months. So even though this is a chronic issue with our kids, we are now being sent to a neurologist to make sure there are no problems. Now, just so you know, I will feel really bad if there is a problem but since Mike had the same issue, I think it's familial.
And finally, for anyone who didn't know, we are expecting baby number three!I have not been to the dr yet because the extremely intelligent people who run the Naval hospital here decided that it would be wise to raise the baby quota up from 150 babies a month to 200! So what that means is anyone who becomes pregnant and needs to see a dr will have to wait at least 6 weeks to get an appointment. That is customer service at it's best. So by then I think I will be well into my second trimester. By my rough estimate, I am thinking this one should be due around Sept-October. We will see. I will keep everyone updated.
*Disclaimer-I cannot be held responsible for any grammatical or spelling errors. I am typing at the speed of light before Mike comes up for bed!

Go Go Chubby Bunny!

Henry is getting so chubby it's hilarious! He is trying very hard to roll over, but he just can't seem to do it yet. As you can see, he's popping out of his clothes!

Happy Early B-day!

Today we celebrated Joe's brithday. His requests-pizza hut pizza, yellow cake with chocolate frosting and opening his present. Easy enough!

Ugly Christmas Sweater

Last night we went to the Shull's annual "Ugly Christmas Sweater" party. It was a sight. Unfortunately I only got pictures of our sweaters. It was quite amazing to see some of the outfits! Look closely, these sweaters are TERRIBLE! What's even worse, is that their orginal prices were between 40-50 dollars!!! Isn't that outrageous!

Santa comes to New River

This year was a super special Chirstmas brunch for the kids. Santa came to New River on a 53! He landed right outside the O'Club for all of the kids to see. It was really something! I didn't get any pictures b/c I stayed inside with Henry. It was too cold for him outside, not to mention dangerous! The downwash from the helicopter is extremely stong. When it landed, everyone turned and ducked their heads. Mike came back inside with ears full of dirt. It was well worth it though. He was so excited. After he landed, Santa came in and talked with the kids. Much to my surprise, Mike went right up and sat on his lap. He asked Santa for a fire truck. Henry missed the excitement. He fell asleep while we were waiting for Santa to come. We had a great time!

HellCat leaves HMH-461

The males in the family have probably heard Joe mention Capt. Trimble. He's been at the aquadron for 6 years! December 16th is his last day with HMH-461. Tom and his wife Karen are favorties of ours and will be missed big time! Tom was with Joe in Africa. Joe requsted that Tom do the pinning when he was promoted to Capt. I know he's been a big part of Joe's life in the squadron and has impacted a lot of the guys in a great way. WE WILL MISS YOU TRIMBLES!

The CO says farewell to the Trimbles at the Christmas party.

Henry Goes to IN

Thanksgiving was Henry's first visit to Indiana and his first time meeting a lot of the gang! He told me it was his favorite place so far :)

Christmas Decor

As promised, here is a picture of Joe's great work. Imagine him on the ladder which was on the roof. He's nuts, but it looks great!

Super 2!

While we were home for Thanksgiving, Mike celebrated his second birthday. This year was extra special because we got to celebrate it with everyone at home. He had two mini parties in the middle of a weekend jammed packed with activity! He LOVES all of his gifts. Amber and Spencer got him some John Deer boots. He wore them non-stop for three days. He even wore them to bed!
Thanks to everyone for making it so great!
